Buckle’s second-quarter net sales fall 3.4 per cent

Buckle has reported a 3.4 per cent decrease in net sales to $282.4 million in the fiscal second quarter.

Comparable store net sales for the 13-week period ended August 3 also dropped 6.6 per cent year on year.

In July alone, net sales increased 3.8 per cent to $98.7 million despite comparable store sales decreasing 6.8 per cent. The company opened one new store at Surprise, Arizona during the month.

The company is set to publish its second-quarter earnings on August 23.

Buckle currently operates 440 retail stores in 42 states, offering a curated mix of apparel, accessories, and footwear.
