Finnish design company Marimekko has collaborated with Blue Bottle Coffee to launch a limited collection.
A tumbler, coffee mug, espresso cup and saucer, coffee spoon, tote bag, and apron (available only in Asia) comprise the collection, which features Marimekko’s Unikko print. All textiles printed at Marimekko’s plant in Helsinki, Finland, are used.
The collection is available at 10 select Blue Bottle Coffee cafes in New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Fukuoka, Seoul, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong, as well as on the brand’s website, starting April 25.
In addition, customers can order the limited-time Marimekko Latte featuring Finnish cinnamon roll at Blue Bottle cafes or make it at home using Blue Bottle Craft Instant Espresso packed in a Unikko pattern.
The collaboration stems from a mutual commitment to artwork, craftsmanship, and daily routine, the two brands said in a statement.
Rebekka Bay, creative director of Marimekko, said that joining forces with Blue Bottle Coffee “perfectly aligns Marimekko’s joyful and optimistic lifestyle philosophy with Blue Bottle Coffee’s craft in specialty coffee”.
Earlier this year, Blue Bottle Coffee announced plans to open its first location in Southeast Asia, in Singapore.
