British-based fashion e-commerce platform Depop has debuted its secondhand fashion campaign in New York – “New York is on Depop” – through limited-edition apparel collections.

While offering exclusive New York-style shop drops, the company will feature Depop’s community representatives on billboards, subway stations, and bus stops throughout the city.

The campaign’s preloved clothing offerings will be available online in June in collaboration with brands including Brooklyn Stroll Club, Brooklyn Museum, Block Party, and Cosmopolitan Closet.

“Through these moments, and with the great secondhand fashion on Depop, we contribute to the many kinds of style and self-expression that have their home in New York,” said Peter Semple, Depop’s interim CEO.

Since its launch in 2011, Depop has given over 100 million items a second life and has organised recycling clothing programs, contributing to sustainable improvements in the circular fashion industry.

In 2022, Depop teamed up with The Sims to promote thrift shopping, upcycling, and circular fashion to its Gen Z audience.
