Furniture retailer HD Buttercup will close all of its stores and liquidate all inventory after two decades of operations, citing “significant disruption” brought about by economic uncertainty.
Founded in 2005 in Los Angeles, HD Buttercup is known for its luxury furnishings, artisan-made pieces, and exclusive designer collections. The brand currently has a flagship store in LA’s Culver City and a showroom in Costa Mesa, Orange County.
The company said the current tariff environment and ongoing economic uncertainty have caused significant disruption to its business model, driving the decision to liquidate its stores.
The retailer is also searching for a potential buyer to continue operating its business.
As part of the store closures, HD Buttercup has launched a storewide sale offering up to 70 per cent off in-stock upholstery, case goods, outdoor furniture, rugs, lighting, and home accessories.
“This farewell is filled with deep gratitude for every customer, designer, and team member who made HD Buttercup what it is,” said CMO Kalli Noel and CFO Ryan Hung.
“We hope you’ll join us one last time to take home a piece of what we built together,” they added.
