Nike has appointed Jane Ewing as its new EVP and CCO, effective September 7. She will report directly to president and CEO Elliott Hill.
With over 20 years of leadership experience, Ewing will oversee the company’s global marketplace operations, which include wholesale distribution and Nike Direct.
Her extensive background spans retail, consumer goods, operations, sustainability, and people management. Ewing will join Nike’s senior executive team to lead the company’s retail strategy and market integration.
Before joining Nike, Ewing spent nearly 14 years at Walmart, where she held executive roles spanning digital retail, global operations, and merchandising.
Before Walmart, she managed international divisions for the beverage company Diageo. Ewing also assumed the interim CEO of Sam’s Club China, where she oversaw business operations and expansion across 30 cities.
This executive change comes as Nike aims to rebuild momentum in its direct-to-consumer channels and strengthen its wholesale partnerships.
Under the new structure, VP of global sales Erica Bullard, VP of Nike Direct Shannon Glass, and VP of geo & marketplace analytics Gail Cornelius will report to Ewing.
CEO Hill emphasised that Ewing’s experience in coordinating digital and physical commerce aligns with Nike’s goal of integrating its global sales channels and accelerating market growth.
“Her role is vital to creating even stronger connections between brand, product and marketplace while serving athletes and consumers around the world.”
“Together, these leaders will continue advancing our efforts to create a more connected and integrated marketplace, strengthen partner relationships, enhance consumer experiences across digital and physical retail, and unlock growth opportunities worldwide,” said Hill.
