US-based fast-casual chain Dave’s Hot Chicken has signed an agreement with UK hospitality operator Azzurri Group to open 180 locations across 10 European countries.

The deal allows Azzurri to operate the brand exclusively in Europe, rolling out the expansion through a joint venture model, partnering with local operators in each market. Target countries include France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Poland, Hungary, the Netherlands, Italy, the Czech Republic, and Turkey.

The agreement follows Dave’s Hot Chicken’s UK launch in late last year, with a flagship site on London’s Shaftesbury Avenue.

Steve Holmes, CEO of Azzurri Group, described the brand as having “strong international potential,” citing its early success in the UK and broad customer appeal.

“Dave’s Hot Chicken has all the ingredients for international success, unforgettable food, massive cultural resonance, and an incredibly scalable model,” said Holmes.

“The response in the UK has been phenomenal, and we’re now focused on bringing this concept to more countries through strong local joint venture partnerships.”

Azzurri operates more than 225 restaurants in the UK, including Ask Italian, Zizzi, and Coco di Mama. It also owns Boojum, a fast-growing burrito chain in Ireland.

Founded in Los Angeles in 2017, Dave’s Hot Chicken started as a pop-up and has grown rapidly across the US. The brand serves a menu of Nashville-style hot chicken in varying spice levels, along with sides like mac & cheese, kale slaw, and seasoned fries.
