Vida Shoes has acquired footwear brand Donald Pliner, including its intellectual property and brand assets, effective immediately. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Solomon Dabah, president of Vida Shoes International, said the transaction supports the company’s long-term strategy of building a balanced portfolio.
“For more than 52 years, Vida has specialized in developing, manufacturing, marketing, and distributing footwear,” Dabah said.
“We believe Donald Pliner has all the ingredients to become an even stronger force in the fashion-comfort market.”
Vida said it plans to leverage its manufacturing, sourcing, and distribution capabilities to strengthen Donald Pliner’s market position and support future growth.
The brand’s product assortment will remain unchanged, with future investment focused on product innovation, construction techniques, and e-commerce.
“Having led Donald Pliner for the past six years, I have seen firsthand the strength of this brand, the talent of this team, and the loyalty of our customers,” said Griffin Guez, CEO of Donald Pliner.
“We worked hard to rebuild and elevate what Donald Pliner stands for, and I couldn’t be more proud of what we accomplished together. Seeing the brand join Vida’s portfolio is tremendously exciting.”
Donald Pliner is currently distributed through department stores, specialty retailers, and digital partners.
Vida said it intends to maintain those retail relationships while selectively expanding distribution through strategic partnerships.
The acquisition expands Vida’s portfolio of owned brands, including Jambu, Aquatalia, André Assous, J Sport and Munro, alongside licensed labels such as Merrell Kids, Saucony Kids, Kurt Geiger, OshKosh B’Gosh, BCBG, Bruno Magli, Splendid, Kenneth Cole, Stride Rite and Carter’s.
