Smoothie King has committed to open 34 new stores, signifying its expansion across the country.
The world’s largest smoothie brand intends to enter Michigan’s Grand Rapids and Ohio’s Toledo for the first time. As part of this, the company will open six units in the Grand Rapids DMA and five units in Toledo.
During the second quarter, Smoothie King opened 18 stores in Georgia, Texas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Florida, New York, Kentucky, Colorado, and Wisconsin.
The company noted that 64 per cent of the second-quarter new store opening commitments are with existing Smoothie King franchises.
“We are pleased with the continued growth of our development pipeline and our reporting this quarter exemplifies the strategic plan to extend the Smoothie King market reach and bring our product to new guests around the country,” said Chris Bremer, chief development officer at Smoothie King.
In May, Smoothie King launched a new beverage category SK Refreshers, which is a range of fresh fruit juice blended with 63mg of caffeine for every 20oz of serving. SK Refreshers are available in strawberry guava lemonade and pineapple mango lemonade flavors.
