Live social shopping company QVC Group is sacking approximately 900 staff as part of its reorganization.

The job cuts will affect the company’s HSN, QVC US and Global Shared Services teams, Retail Dive reported.

QVC said many of those affected were let go last week, while others will continue working for several months. They will be offered separation benefits and outplacement services.

In late January, the company announced plans to consolidate its QVC US and HSN operations. It also shuttered the headquarters in St Petersburg, Florida and moved the operations to Studio Park in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Last month, QVC extended CEO David Rawlinson’s leadership term through at least the end of 2027. The company appointed Alex Wellen as its chief growth officer last week.

The company reported a 6 per cent revenue decline for the fourth quarter. Its operating loss expanded to about $1.3 billion from $103 million in the year-ago period.

QVC Group, previously known as Qurate Retail Group, owns six retail brands, including QVC, HSN, Ballard Designs, Frontgate, Garnet Hill and Grandin Road.

Last month, Grubhub decided to cut about 500 jobs after it was acquired by food delivery startup Wonder.
