Ebay will mark four decades of New York Fashion Week with Endless Runway: The Archive, a one-night retrospective showcasing more than 150 archival pieces from American designers.
Streaming on September 9, the event is part of Ebay’s global Endless Runway initiative and is presented in partnership with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).
The retrospective showcase will also allow viewers to bid on selected pieces in real time via Ebay Live.
“We’re opening up this incredible collection to people everywhere, giving them the opportunity to discover the stories behind these iconic pieces, engage with the experts who know them best, bid in real time, and own a piece of fashion history,” said Ashish Chhabra, VP and GM of Ebay Live.
Highlights include archival pieces by Anna Sui, Bob Mackie, Donna Karan, Halston, Isaac Mizrahi, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Todd Oldham, Tom Ford, Michael Kors, and Virgil Abloh.
Steven Kolb, president and CEO of the CFDA, said NYFW was built on generations of designers who have shaped American fashion, and Endless Runway celebrates that legacy.
“Through its marketplace and this retrospective, Ebay connects more than three decades of rare, vintage, and archival fashion with the collectors shaping its future,” he added.
