Sephora is expanding its social commerce presence with the launch of a TikTok Shop storefront in the US, introducing a new shopping format centered on exclusive product drops and live content.
The beauty retailer’s TikTok Shop debut will include the Sephora Drop Shop, a monthly program featuring curated product selections initially available on the platform. The first drop is scheduled for September 19.
Each activation will be supported by teaser content and creator-led programming ahead of a TikTok Live shopping event, where featured products will be introduced to consumers.
“We already have an incredibly active beauty community on TikTok, so we are excited to take the next step and pilot the Sephora Drop Shop on TikTok Shop,” said Artemis Patrick, president and CEO of Sephora North America.
“This platform gives us a new way to interact with our existing customers, while extending our reach to a highly immersed beauty audience. Importantly, the launch signifies a natural progression in how we continue to lead and innovate in beauty retail.”
The launch reflects the growing role of social platforms in beauty discovery and e-commerce. TikTok, in particular, has become an important channel for brands and retailers seeking to connect product discovery, creator content and direct purchasing.
