Balance Point Capital buys 39 Taco Bell stores

Balance Point Capital is to acquire 39 Taco Bell units in the Atlanta metro area through a follow-on equity investment in ABTB Mid-Atlantic Holding Company owned by restaurant operator Southpaw.

The value of the deal has not yet been disclosed. As of August, there are more than 7800 Taco Bell restaurants in the US.

“This acquisition presents a meaningful opportunity to add geographic diversity and scale to our existing Taco Bell network and build upon the strong performance we’ve experienced in our other geographies,” said Judd Wishnow, co-founder of Southpaw.

“Balance Point’s speed of execution and knowledge of the industry were critical to completing this acquisition.”

Southpaw, an active acquirer of Taco Bell franchises, currently operates more than 180 quick-service restaurants under the Taco Bell and Dunkin’ brands in the country. The company says it expects to continue to grow its network through both acquisitions and new unit development.
