Savers Value Village reported higher sales and sharply increased profit for its fiscal second quarter, driven by strong comparable store growth in the US and improved performance in Canada.

The Bellevue, Washington-based thrift retailer said net sales rose 7.9 per cent to $417.2 million for the quarter ended June 28, up from $386.8 million a year earlier. On a constant currency basis, sales increased 8.5 per cent.

Comparable store sales grew 4.6 per cent, with US stores up 6.2 per cent and Canadian stores rising 2.6 per cent.

“Our strong US comparable store sales and continued improvement in Canada demonstrate that our sharp value and compelling assortment are winning with consumers,” said Mark Walsh, CEO of Savers Value Village.

“Given the ongoing momentum in the business, we are raising our 2025 guidance.”

Savers Value Village operates 354 stores across the US and Canada. The company opened four new locations during the quarter and plans to open 25 stores in fiscal 2025.

Citing strong performance, the company raised its full-year revenue forecast to a range of $1.67 billion to $1.69 billion, up from previous guidance of $1.61 billion to $1.65 billion.
