Italian luxury brand Valentino’s CEO, Jacopo Venturini, will be stepping down from his role, effective next Wednesday.

The company said the move was made after Venturini had decided to take a break for personal reasons.

This comes after Valentino said that Venturini had been on sick leave in June.

Previously, Venturini was the executive VP of merchandising at Gucci and took up the position of CEO at Valentino in June 2020, where he helped expand the business in Asia and the Middle East while navigating store closures caused by Covid-19 lockdowns.

Valentino is part-owned by French luxury conglomerate Kering, which bought a 30 per cent stake in the business from Mayhoola, a Qatari fund, for 1.7 billion euros in 2023 and has plans to buy the rest of the company by 2028.

The company stated that Venturini’s successor would be announced in due course.
