Ugg is turning leftover leathers and suedes into a new footwear collection as a response to the surplus from the last few seasons.
The Decker Brands-owned footwear retailer officially launched ReImagined by Ugg, making use of excess fabrics the company purchased but failed to utilize due to order cancellation or other product-related reasons.
The collection features Classic Ultra Mini ReImagined selling at $150 and Tasman ReImagined available for $110.
Both footwear items have repurposed wool and lyocell woven into a recycled polyester backing. Meanwhile, the outsoles are made of renewable, rainwater-nourished sugarcane.
The company added that the suede and sheepskin are sourced from Leather Working Group-certified tanneries, which commit to responsible and sustainable leather production.
Ugg noted that future footwear collections will vary depending on several factors including the amount of surplus materials available.
