The Cheesecake Factory’s annual net income more than doubles

The Cheesecake Factory’s annual net income more than doubled amid higher revenue across all its business segments.

The company’s net income surged 135 per cent to $101.4 million while revenue increased 4.1 per cent to $3.44 billion.

The Cheesecake Factory restaurant segment’s revenue inched 2.7 per cent higher to $2.6 billion while the North Italia segment jumped 13.2 per cent to $258.9 million.

The revenue of Fox Restaurant Concepts rose 11.1 per cent to $263.9 million while the revenue of other businesses improved 4.1 per cent to $321.6 million.

During the fourth quarter, the company opened three Cheesecake Factory restaurants, three North Italia restaurants, and three FRC restaurants in the US.

Two The Cheesecake Factory locations opened abroad, under licensing partnerships in China and Thailand.

Fourth-quarter net income stood at $12.7 million as revenue fell 1.8 per cent to $877 million.

Following the fourth quarter, the company opened one North Italia restaurant, one Flower Child and one Culinary Dropout.

It also opened one Cheesecake Factory restaurant opened internationally under a licensing agreement in Mexico.
