Nike has added LVMH executive Alexandre Arnault to its board of directors, effective immediately.
Arnault has served as deputy CEO of Moët Hennessy, LVMH’s wines and spirits division, since February last year.
Mark Parker, president and CEO of Nike, said Arnault’s expertise in brand building gives him a deep understanding of how companies stay relevant and deliver long-term growth.
“His experience across innovation, digital transformation and brand building will be an asset as we continue to strengthen our connection with consumers, sharpen our competitive edge and accelerate Nike’s next chapter of growth around the world.”
Before joining Moët Hennessy, Arnault spent four years as EVP of product, communications and industrial at Tiffany & Co, following its acquisition by LVMH.
Earlier, he also led the group’s acquisition of luggage brand Rimowa before serving as the company’s CEO for four years.
Arnault began his career focusing on digital innovation and technology investments at LVMH and Agache after roles at McKinsey & Company and KKR.
He currently serves on LVMH’s board of directors and is a trustee of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He has also served on the boards of Carrefour, Birkenstock and Moncler.
“Alexandre has earned a reputation for helping global brands evolve, innovate and grow in a changing, complex marketplace,” added Mark Parker, executive chairman of Nike.
“His leadership across some of the world’s most respected brands will make him a strong addition to our board.”
