Miniso has launched its first Hello Kitty and Friends pop-ups in North America, marking a key step in the company’s global IP strategy.

The New York location at Tangram Mall in Flushing opened on March 14, followed by the Los Cerritos Center in California on March 18. Additional locations in Canada are planned as part of the rollout.

The pop-ups feature more than 500 licensed products across toys, collectibles, stationery, accessories, and lifestyle items.

Collectibles include nearly 30 vinyl plush pendant blind boxes and figures from series such as Forest Animal and Hide and Seek, alongside practical lifestyle collections like Hello Spring and Tennis Diary.

The stores are designed as walkthrough spaces with pastel pink and blue visuals, cloud and rainbow motifs, and multiple photo areas. Characters on display include Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, and Cinnamoroll.

Miniso has partnered with Sanrio since 2016, producing collaborative products and themed stores in international markets. The North American pop-ups are the first of their kind in the region and reflect Miniso’s focus on IP-driven retail.

Earlier this year, Miniso opened its largest Bay Area store at Fremont’s Pacific Commons, spanning more than 12000sqft.
