Fashion house Kenneth Cole is set to open several stores across Europe this year as part of a major expansion that targets up to 100 locations by 2030.

Kenneth Cole was founded by the namesake American designer in 1982. The brand offers men’s and women’s footwear, apparel, accessories, luggage, and fragrances under various lines including Kenneth Cole New York, Reaction, and Gentle Souls.

According to WWD, the company has opened a 5700sqft showroom in Dusseldorf, Germany, as well as launched its e-commerce sites kennethcole.eu and kennethcole.co.uk.

The expansion will continue with a concept store in Prague, the Czech Republic, in March and a store in Austria in May, and subsequent openings across Germany, Scandinavia and the Baltic region. Stores will range from 2500 to 4000sqft in size.

The company targets to open 100 stores by 2030, with a focus on the franchise model. This will be accompanied by a double-digit number of shops-in-shop within major department stores.

To facilitate the expansion, the brand has formed a new business entity to collaborate with strategic operating partners alongside wholesale and franchise relationships.

“Europe has always been an important part of our brand’s story, and this marks an exciting new chapter,” Kenneth Cole, executive chairman and chief creative officer, told WWD. “We’re coming back in a big way — with the right infrastructure, and a modern, global vision for how the brand shows up in the ever-shrinking world.”

The company expects the European expansion to generate about $400 million to $500 million in sales by 2030.
