HEB is expanding its footprint with plans to open a Joe V’s Smart Shop store in Garland, as it continues to grow its value-focused banner.
The move builds on the discount format launched in 2010, which the company says has gained traction as consumers shift toward lower-priced grocery options.
The San Antonio-based grocer said the outlet will be built on a seven-acre site at the northeast corner of Centerville Road and LBJ Freeway, redeveloping a vacant shopping center.
Joe V’s Smart Shop operates 11 stores in the Houston area, where the concept originated. HEB has since expanded the banner into the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex as part of its broader regional growth strategy.
The location will be the fourth Joe V’s Smart Shop in North Texas, bringing its total number of locations to 14.
