Sweetgreen, the fast-casual restaurant chain, plans to open its first Arkansas location in Fayetteville later this year, following a second location in Bentonville as it expands its southern US footprint.

“Northwest Arkansas is quickly becoming a hub for innovation and growth, and we’re excited to be part of it,” said Christopher Tarrant, Sweetgreen’s CDO.

The Fayetteville location will cover 2422sqft and be located in the South Yard development, while the Bentonville store, which spans 3275sqft, will be situated at Walmart’s home office.

“Opening on Walmart’s forward-thinking new home office campus and in Fayetteville, home of the University of Arkansas, is a meaningful milestone for our brand, and we’re looking forward to serving these communities with fresh, real food,” said Tarrant.

The brand expects to expand into new markets such as Sacramento, Phoenix, and Cincinnati with at least 40 new restaurants this year, increasing its presence by 15 to 20 per cent annually.

In March, Sweetgreen opened its first location in Richmond, and the company’s CEO and co-founder, Jonathan Neman, spoke about customer experience at Shoptalk 2025.
