Luggage brand Beis has named Adeela Hussain Johnson as its first CEO.

Johnson, who has been involved with the venture since it was founded by actress Shay Mitchell, was previously president. She also previously held roles at Target and Ameriprise Financial.

Beis was launched six years ago with investment from venture capital and incubator company Beach House Group. Since then it has grown to achieve gross revenue of $120 million and is on track to top $200 million this year.

“Launching and building Beis has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life, and I am honored to continue to lead this remarkable team and brand,” Johnson told WWD

“For me, this role transition is a great testament to where the business has grown and the strides we are taking to continue to lead the market as the on-the-go brand for everyone.”

“I am beyond ecstatic to have Adeela as our CEO – she has been absolutely integral in shaping what Beis is today,” Mitchell added.

“As a creative entrepreneur, we’re lucky to have someone who is not only empowering but fosters such an incredible work environment, it’s long overdue.”
