Sporting goods retailer Academy Sports + Outdoors has opened its first store in the Kyle area in Texas, marking its fifth store opening this year.

The location covers 56,000sqft at 5755 Kyle Parkway, featuring a wide assortment of sports and outdoor merchandise, as well as clothing from brands such as Nike, Adidas, Marucci, Stanley, Carhartt, Titleist, Shimano, Yeti, Brooks, and The North Face.

Academy also offers tremendous everyday value and quality through its exclusive, private-label brands, namely Magellan Outdoors, Freely, ROW, BCG, H2OX, Redfield, and Mosaic.

The store offers free services including grill and bike assembly, scope mounting, bore sighting, and line winding/spooling. Customers can also purchase hunting and fishing licences.

“We look forward to providing a new convenient location for the best sports and outdoor equipment, at a great value, so that families can get to the fun faster,” said Sam Johnson, Academy’s executive VP of retail operations. 

The company plans to continue its expansion efforts with the goal of opening a total of 120 to 140 new stores by the end of 2027.
