Doughnut chain Duck Donuts has signed a franchise deal with local distributor Bravo Foods Corp to launch into the Philippines.
The firms intend to establish 25 locations throughout the Philippines by 2030. The first store is set to open in the second quarter of this year in Makati, a city in the Philippines’ Metro Manila region.
“We believe that the warmth and uniqueness of Duck Donuts will resonate with the Filipino community,” said Betsy Hamm, CEO of Duck Donuts.
“We are excited to embark on this journey of sweet success in partnership with Bert Bravo and leverage his knowledge of the market and industry as we begin to introduce Duck Donuts throughout the country of the Philippines.”
Bravo Foods Corp, which has experience in the culinary, hospitality, and franchising industries, has operated multiple restaurants in the country and served as a master franchise partner with ServiceMaster for 28 years.
The company is owned by entrepreneur and lawyer Edilberto Bravo, whose other businesses include U-Bix Corporation, Facilities Managers, Federated Realty Corporation, Bravo Hotel Corporation, and Coffee Tonya.
Duck Donuts recently expanded into Thailand, opening its first location in Bangkok in October in conjunction with franchise partner The Great Restaurant Group. It is also reportedly planning franchise launches in Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao, as well as Australia and the UK.
