Wacoal US has named James Wheatly as new CEP and president, succeeding Mitchell Kauffman, who will step down after six years of leadership.
Following a 40-year career in the intimate apparel industry, Kauffman will transition into an advisory role.
Wheatley’s career spans nearly four decades in retail and intimate apparel, including 13 years at JCPenney and leadership positions at Vanity Fair and Maidenform prior to joining Wacoal.
The leadership transition occurs as the brand undergoes significant operational changes and physical expansion.
Specifically, Wacoal US recently finalized the acquisition of Glamorise to broaden its category reach and has opened new retail locations in Columbus, Ohio, and Hilton Head, South Carolina.
