Tractor Supply Company plans to open 100 more stores next year after reporting solid results for the second fiscal quarter.

The company’s president and CEO Hal Lawton revealed the new store pipeline during the second-quarter earnings call on Thursday.

He added that the recent acquisition of 18 Big Lots locations will provide the company with confidence and a strong start to the plan.

“We’re pleased with the progress we’ve made across the business in the first half of the year.

“Our performance in the second quarter reflects solid execution, continued resilience in our core categories and strong alignment with our long term strategic priorities,” Lawton remarked.

As of June 28, the company had 2335 Tractor Supply stores in 49 states and 207 Petsense by Tractor Supply locations in 23 states. It opened 25 net new stores during the second quarter.

Second-quarter net sales increased 4.5 per cent to $4.44 billion, with comparable sales up 1.5 per cent and comparable average transaction up 1 per cent.

Operating income increased 2.9 per cent to $577.8 million and net income increased 1.1 per cent to $430 million

The company expects net sales to grow 4-8 per cent and comparable sales to be flat to up 4 per cent for the full year.

“Despite external pressures, including economic uncertainty and shifting tariffs, our year-to-date performance and visibility into the remainder of the year provide a solid foundation to reaffirm our 2025 financial outlook,” Lawton said.
