Lululemon has opened a new flagship store in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood and announced a significant leadership change at the company.

The store, located at Broadway and Spring Street, covers more than 17,000sqft across two floors. This is the first store in North America to feature the brand’s latest design concept, which includes 3D-printed recycled materials, terrazzo flooring, hand-formed tilework, and a lighting installation inspired by the Pacific Northwest.

“Our new SoHo store reflects both the energy of New York City and Lululemon’s commitment to creating a welcoming, dynamic retail experience, designed to celebrate our product and the community,” said Darin Rabb, senior VP, global brand creative and experience, at Lululemon.

“Every detail has been curated to evoke emotion and connection, with elevated materials to reflect the quality and craftsmanship of our products.”

The opening comes as the retailer continues expanding in key markets, including a new store in Seoul’s Gangnam district, unveiled on November 20.

Executive changes

Alongside the store debut, Lululemon announced that Celeste Burgoyne, president of the Americas and global guest innovation, will leave the company at the end of next month for “an opportunity outside the industry”. Burgoyne joined Lululemon in 2006 and became its first president in 2020, overseeing substantial growth in the North American business.

As part of the transition, the company will consolidate regional leadership and has appointed Andre Maestrini as president and chief commercial officer, effective immediately.

Maestrini, who joined Lululemon in 2021, currently oversees operations across EMEA, Apac, and Mainland China. He previously held senior positions at Adidas as well as earlier roles at Coca-Cola, Danone, and Kraft Jacobs Suchard.
