Casual apparel brand Tilly’s has named Nate Smith as its new CEO and president, succeeding Hezy Shaked, who will transition to the company’s chairman role, effective August 18.

“We believe Nate’s combination of robust industry experience, core values, and strategic vision will help revitalize our brand and drive further improvements in our business during this important time,” said Hezy Shaked, Tilly’s current CEO.

Since 2012, Smith has held executive positions at several brands, including Marolina Outdoor, Boardriders, and Oakley, who will also become the company’s new director.

The upcoming chairman and the brand’s co-founder, Hezy Shaked, was appointed to the permanent president and CEO role after Ed Thomas’s retirement last year.

Earlier this year, Tilly’s reported a double-digit sales drop in the fourth quarter
