The Macallan has opened its first West Coast travel retail boutique at Los Angeles International Airport in partnership with DFS Group.

The 92sqm store, located in the Tom Bradley International Terminal, introduces the brand’s new ‘Nurtured by Nature’ retail concept and marks a key step in its expansion across the Americas.

Designed with architect Jamie Fobert, the boutique incorporates elements inspired by The Macallan’s Six Pillars, featuring copper walls, charred oak shelving, and an Albariza brick wall made from soil used to grow sherry grapes in Jerez de la Frontera.

A standout feature is ‘Dancing Leaf’, a sculpture by local artist Sarah Ippolito, inspired by the American oak casks used in whisky maturation.

Wilcy Wong, commercial director of global travel retail at Edrington, called the LAX boutique’s opening an important milestone for the brand’s presence in the Americas.

Visitors can browse limited editions, travel-exclusive whiskies such as the Colour Collection, and ultra-prestige releases.
