Target will launch its first chain-wide Denim Take Back Event, allowing shoppers to recycle unwanted or outgrown denim from any brand in-store and receive a 20 per cent discount on a new denim apparel purchase through Target Circle.
Customers can bring up to five denim items in any condition to a Target store and drop them off in the designated in-store boxes between August 4 and 10.
According to Target, this event is another example of how it provides options that allow families to make more sustainable choices while also saving money on products like denim that they use or wear regularly.
“Our new Denim Take Back Event is an easy way for families to give their used denim a new life,” says Gena Fox, Target’s senior VP of merchandising for apparel and accessories.
“With back-to-school and college shopping top of mind for families, we’re offering this 20 per cent off Target Circle deal to make it even more affordable for our guests to refresh their denim wardrobes, while also doing our part to reduce waste and keep used denim out of landfills.”
Through Target’s Denim Take Back Event, customers can give their unwanted items a second chance and prevent discarded denim from ending up in landfills. This program expands on the achievements of Target’s Car Seat Trade-in Program, which since 2016 has recycled 39.7 million pounds of materials and 2.6 million car seats.
