Skechers, the footwear company, has opened its 5000th branded retail store in a network that spans more than 120 countries. The store, in Bogota, Columbia, is part of the brand’s international expansion which helped it exceed $8 billion in revenue in FY23.

Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers, said starting in 1995 with the original Skechers store in Manhattan Beach, the brand has opened its first international stores in Japan and China.

“With an additional 140 to 160 more company-owned stores planned this year and hundreds of stores opening annually with our partners, we are on the road to 10,000 Skechers stores,” he added.

“Every location offers the same look and feel to carry the Skechers brand with consistency across six continents.”

Physical storefronts are vital for consumer interaction and brand loyalty, according to Greenberg.

Skechers’ offerings stretch from fashion styles to lifestyle items and performance shoes for sports lovers, bolstered by the company’s signature comfort innovation, which includes several patented components.
