Discount retailer Ross Stores has opened 40 new locations across 17 states in the past two months, including 36 Ross Dress for Less and four DD’s Discounts.

The expansion brings the company’s total additions this year to 90 stores.

“This fall, we continued to strengthen our brand presence by opening stores in existing markets and expanding in new markets,” said Richard Lietz, executive VP for property development, at Ross.

“Looking ahead, we remain confident in our expansion plans and see plenty of opportunity to grow to at least 2,900 Ross Dress for Less and 700 DD’s Discounts locations over time.”

Following the new openings, Ross Dress for Less and DD’s Discounts together operate 2273 locations across 44 states, the District of Columbia, Guam and Puerto Rico.
