RH has opened RH Estates in Greenwich, Connecticut, bringing its new concept to North America and unveiling its first freestanding Gallery worldwide.
Located opposite RH Outdoor Greenwich and near RH Greenwich, The Gallery combines the brand’s real estate and hospitality offerings, creating what RH describes as its “first complete ecosystem”.
The concept focuses on rare and collectible historical designs, many of which were previously available only through exclusive trade showrooms. Collections include designs by Michael Taylor, known for his California-inspired interiors, including his Diamond Table, Jennifer Chair, and Jennifer Sofa.
RH Estates also features items from designers Richard Hallberg and Daniel Cuevas, who launched Formations and acquired Dennis & Leen. Their work combines classical reproductions with contemporary pieces.
“Greenwich marks a pivotal moment for our brand as we introduce the first freestanding RH Estates Gallery in the world, an immersive and eclectic expression of rare and collectable historical designs of the highest quality previously only available at exclusive to-the-trade showrooms,” said Gary Friedman, chairman and CEO of RH.
The Gallery is designed with ornate gilded iron and glass doors opening into a ‘Great Room’ featuring limestone floors, a wrought-iron and gold-leaf staircase, detailed cornices and sculpted medallions, and Venetian glass chandeliers.
Aside from retail, it also includes Cucina Angelina, RH’s firsat Italian restaurant in North America.
The 88-seat restaurant features European white oak, Crema Emperador marble, herringbone floors, and Italian burnt caramel velvet banquettes. Its menu, first introduced at RH Milan, includes Italian classics, wood-fired pizzas, among others.
A bar and lounge completes the hospitality offering, serving signature cocktails, wines, and champagnes.
“Because of this human touch, every single piece remains a one-of-a-kind masterpiece in its own right – pieces that not only furnish a home, but define it,” RH Estates said.
