Reebok has teamed up with Sony Interactive Entertainment on a limited-edition footwear collection marking PlayStation’s 30th anniversary.
The Reebok x PlayStation collection features three sneakers: The InstaPump Fury 94, Pump Omni Zone II and Workout Plus.
A unique sneaker is linked to one of the gaming console’s founding regions: Japan, the US and the UK.
Each design incorporates details inspired by the first PlayStation console, reflecting the launch-era aesthetic, with a grey palette, vintage logos and button-style accents.
- InstaPump Fury 94 (Japan, $251): Memory card tongue labels, “Press Play” pump ball and hidden text noting Japan’s launch date (December 3, 1994).
- Pump Omni Zone II (US, $220): PlayStation-colored pump ball, alternate laces with metal tips, memory card graphics and hidden US launch date (September 9, 1995).
- Workout Plus (UK, $176): PlayStation’s circle, triangle and square button motifs, plus hidden text marking the UK launch date (September 29, 1995).
Mubi Ali, global senior product marketing manager at Reebok described the collection as a “time machine”.
“It’s for the after-school music TV kids: Grunge in their headphones, wheels at their feet and a dial-up world that feels wide open,” said Ali.
“We’ve brought those memories to life in every stitch, lace and pump.”
The collection will launch this month in limited quantities through select retailers in each market.
