Pet care and supply chain PetSmart has named Alan Schnaid, former executive VP and CFO, as its new CEO and interim president following the resignation of JK Symancyk.
“Alan has been instrumental in building our strategy and we’re confident in his ability to continue to carry it out as we search for a new CEO to lead PetSmart into the future,” said Raymond Svider, chairman of the board of directors.
With over 22 years of experience in financial and accounting roles, Svider served as CFO of Starwood hotel and leisure chains and related roles in several accounting firms.
PetSmart operates nearly 1700 pet stores offering pet food, products, and services in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. The company also teams with animal welfare organizations for pet adoption.
