Nordstrom Rack appears to have left its heart in San Francisco, with the off-price retailer returning to downtown with a new store on Stockton Street.
The 51,500sqft outlet marks Nordstrom Rack’s comeback to the city after its previous downtown location closed in 2023.
Mayor Daniel Lurie said the opening reflects renewed confidence in the city, following efforts to improve public safety, streamline regulations, and create a more business-friendly environment.
“Three years ago, companies were leaving San Francisco,” Lurie said. “Today, they want to be here, and Nordstrom Rack’s decision to return to the heart of our city is another sign of the growing confidence in San Francisco.”
The Stockton outlet will offer Nordstrom Rack’s assortment of apparel, footwear, beauty products, accessories, and home goods. Customers will also have access to online order pickup from Nordstrom.com and NordstromRack.com, as well as returns and alterations.
“Nordstrom has a long history in San Francisco, and we’re excited to bring Nordstrom Rack back downtown,” said Erik Nordstrom, CEO of Nordstrom.
“The city has many wonderful assets, and it has clearly built momentum in making downtown a great place for customers.”
Nordstrom Rack Stockton is set to open next fall.
