Swarovski has opened its flagship store on Fifth Avenue, marking an important milestone in the company’s North American expansion strategy.
The boutique, designed by creative director Giovanna Engelbert, aspires to “inspire amazement” while paying credit to “the gleaming beauty of crystal”.
Swarovski on Fifth, spread over two floors and 14,400 sqft, is designed as a colourful jewellery box loaded with treasures, including the largest crystal chaton ever cut.
Two giant stones frame the store’s entryway and the Swarovski Octagon is incorporated throughout the store’s design, from the elevation of the wall exhibits and octagonal try-on stations to the crystal doorknobs and the shape of the hand mirrors.
A pink staircase – also octagonal – leads customers to the higher floor, framed by displays focused on stories from the Austrian brand’s 128-year history.
The second floor features a white boutique dedicated to Swarovski Created Diamonds and a cafe where refreshments are served in Swarovski’s Rosenthal China, along with a room where customers can personalise and customise their purchases.
