Italian luxury house Gucci has launched a giant flagship store in Ginza, which will house Asia’s first Gucci Osteria restaurant.
President and CEO of Gucci Marco Bizzarri said creative director Alessandro Michele was behind the concept of the Namiki store, which spans four floors and sits in the same location where the brand started its business in Japan in 1964.
Gucci Japan has collaborated with Japanese artist Yuko Higuchi to feature his special artwork on the facade of the flagship store.
The first two floors, which have been first opened by appointment, span approximately 720sqm, and offer men’s and women’s clothing, bags, luggage, accessories, shoes, jewelry, silk products, fragrances, and furniture.
The interior design was inspired by Japanese bamboo.
The third floor, scheduled to open later this year, will house ‘Gucci Apartment’, where visitors can enjoy ‘a bespoke client space’ and discover the #GucciDécor collection.
Gucci Osteria will be opened on the fourth floor of the building. This restaurant is also the world’s third Osteria restaurant after Osteria Florence and Osteria Beverly Hills.
