Footwear brand Oofos has appointed co-founder Lou Panaccione and industry veteran Angel Martinez as co-CEOs as part of its plan to accelerate growth.
As co-CEOs, Martinez will oversee brand, product creation, sales and marketing, while Panaccione will focus on product development, operations, supply chain, finance and culture.
Panaccione co-founded Oofos in 2011 with Paul Brown, Juan Diaz and Steve Ligget. He has been part of the company since its inception and has played a key role in sustaining the brand’s growth.
“Oofos started with a simple idea – to help people feel good,” said Panaccion.
“Angel’s proven ability to grow brands, and his deep understanding of what makes product, business, and culture align, make him the ideal partner for this next chapter.”
Martinez joined Oofos’ board of directors early this year and brings decades of leadership experience in the footwear industry. He was a founding executive at Reebok, chief of Rockport, vice chairman of Keen, and president of Deckers Brands.
“I’ve admired Oofos for its innovation, authenticity and purpose-driven approach,” added Martinez.
“Since joining the board, I’ve been inspired by the passion and creativity of this team. Oofos has a rare combination of technology, mission and culture. I’m excited to work alongside Lou and the wider organisation to bring that to more people around the world.”
In addition, Liz White, who joined the company as CMO in January, will now serve as chief commercial officer. Her expanded remit includes all commercial functions, such as North American sales, e-commerce and merchandising.
