Walter P Glazer Jr will step down as CEO and president of Escalade at the end of the year, and the hunt for a successor is underway.

Glazer, who has been a shareholder since 1991 and a director for the last nine years, will remain on the board following his retirement, subject to usual shareholder approval.

His retirement was motivated by a desire to spend more time with his family.

“With Escalade in a strong position, it is time for me to reconnect with my own family and create memorable moments with them,” said Glazer.

According to Escalade, under his leadership, the company “saw both significant growth and successfully navigated the post-pandemic return to normalized demand.”

“Glazer’s commitment and outstanding leadership have guided Escalade through a period of unprecedented growth and transformation,” said Ned Williams, lead independent director.

“His focus on developing future leaders and ensuring that Escalade consistently delivers value to consumers and trade partners has positioned the company for continued long-term success.”

Founded in 1922, Escalade offers sporting goods and has brands including Bear Archery, Stiga table tennis, Accudart, Rave Sports and Victory Tailgate.
