Domino’s Pizza has reported sales growth for the third quarter, driven by the solid performance in the US market.

The chain’s global retail sales for the quarter ended September 7 rose 6.3 per cent to $4.7 billion, with US sales up 7 per cent and international sales up 5.7 per cent.

Same-store sales in the US grew 5.7 per cent, while international same-store sales increased 1.7 per cent. US franchise stores reported a 5.3 per cent increase, and company-owned stores saw a 3.4 per cent improvement.

“In the US, we drove positive order counts behind our Best Deal Ever promotion and stuffed crust pizza product innovation for the third quarter,” commented CEO Russell Weiner. “This resulted in another quarter of strong growth in both our delivery and carryout businesses.”

On the bottom line, the company’s income from operations soared 12.2 per cent, mainly thanks to higher US franchise royalties and fees.

However, net income fell 5.2 per cent due to an unfavorable change in the pre-tax unrealized losses and gains associated with the company’s investment in DPC Dash.

“Seeing our strategy being executed at such a high level gives me the confidence that we will continue to win and take QSR pizza market share around the world in 2025 and beyond,” added Weiner.

As of September 7, the chain’s store count rose to 21,536, including 7061 in the US and 14,475 internationally. The company opened 250 new stores and closed 36 during the quarter.

Last week, Domino’s Pizza revealed its first major brand refresh in 13 years, introducing a new look, sound and feel.
