Dollar General names Emily Taylor as COO

Dollar General has announced the appointment of Emily Taylor as its new COO, effective November 16, along with the appointment of Bryan Wheeler as EVP.

With more than 25 years at Dollar General, Taylor previously held several leadership roles, including executive VP and chief merchandising officer. 

“Emily’s strategic vision and tenured understanding of the vital role DG plays in our customers’ lives will be invaluable as she expands her responsibilities as COO,” said Todd Vasos, Dollar General’s CEO.

Recognized for her achievements as a trailblazer in the retail space, Taylor was recently honored as Merchant of the Year by Mass Market Retailers (MMR), and made Chain Store Age‘s Retail’s Top Women 2025 list.

Earlier, Dollar General launched its home collection – Home Valley – in collaboration with several renowned brands, including Kathy Ireland and Beverly Hills Polo Club.
