CVS has opened its first pharmacy-only store in Chicago’s West End, with plans to launch about 20 more locations this year.
The 3000sqft store features a full-service pharmacy alongside a curated range of over-the-counter products.
CVS said the new format aims to improve access to healthcare services, including prescription medications, immunizations, and pharmacist consultations.
“We know how important it is for patients to be able to speak one-on-one with their pharmacist, have their questions answered, and seek medication advice when needed,” said Len Shankman, EVP and president of pharmacy and consumer wellness at CVS Health.
“Our new pharmacy-only locations allow our teams to build relationships with patients and provide on-the-ground care in communities that need it.”
