Pharmacy chain CVS Health has appointed Tom Cowhey as its CFO and Mike Pykosz as president of Health Care Delivery, effective immediately.
Cowhey has been serving as SVP of corporate finance and interim CFO at CVS and will succeed Shawn Guertin, who is on leave and will depart the company on May 31, citing family health reasons.
Prior to joining CVS, Cowhey served as CFO of Surgery Partners and held various strategy and finance roles at CVS Health-owned company Aetna.
“We are fortunate to have someone of Tom’s caliber and experience already within CVS Health today and ready to take on the role. His experience in health care is deep and broad, and he will drive continuity for our strategy and delivering on our commitments,” said CVS Health president and CEO Karen S Lynch.
Meanwhile, Pykosz has been the interim lead of Health Care Delivery and the CEO and co-founder of Oak Street Health, a CVS Health company.
“Mike is a natural fit to lead the execution of our health care delivery strategy. There is real innovation and value to be unlocked as Mike unifies our clinic-based and home health assets,” said Lynch.
