Columbia appoints co-presidents as it shapes succession plan

Sportswear brand Columbia has appointed Peter J Bragdon and Joseph P Boyle as co-presidents, as part of the company’s succession plan.

Bragdon will manage the company’s overseas brands, including Mountain Hardwear, Prana, and the Soreal, while overseeing certain administrative and international distributor sales functions. 

As part of the transition, Boyle will supervise the company’s key Columbia brand in the North American business.

In addition, Richelle T Luther has been appointed as executive VP, and Jana C Humble will serve as senior VP and chief human resources officer.

“As the company returns to growth, new opportunities will be developed, and enthusiastic leadership will be in place to take the company to the next level,” said Timothy P Boyle, chairman and CEO of Columbia.

“Joe Boyle has been the architect of the Columbia brand’s project accelerate strategy, and I am looking forward to seeing him drive the strategy in the US marketplace.”
