Citizen Watch has opened its first flagship store in New York, on Fifth Avenue – one of Manhattan’s most prestigious retail districts.

The location spans 7000qsft and three floors, with a full range of watch collections from the group’s portfolio, including Accutron, Alpina, Bulova, Citizen, and Frederique Constant.

The location, designed by architect Ken Park and his New York-based firm Kenneth Park Architects, also houses Citizen’s “Light is Time” artwork. The project takes centre stage as gleaming base plates encircle the staircase and is inspired by the brand’s unique light-powered Eco-Drive technology, highlighting the core of any watch movement.

There is also a large video display visible from the street that uses True 3D technology and a 20-ft-long branded wall showcasing the company’s legacy in watchmaking.

The first two floors feature a wide choice of brands as well as timepieces that are available exclusively at the flagship location.

The third level will include a museum archive as well as a dedicated space for on-site programs, events, and community activities next year.

“This is our first-ever US multi-brand flagship and there is no better place than New York City to capture the inclusive worldview of our company as it serves as the most iconic intersection for citizens from across the world,” said Jeffrey Cohen, president of Citizen Watch America.
