Luxury conglomerate Kering has named Romain Spitzer CEO of Bottega Veneta, effective September 1.

He will report to Kering CEO Luca de Meo and will be based in Milan, where he will join the group’s executive committee.

Spitzer brings more than 30 years of experience in the luxury industry, with expertise in brand management, retail, and client relationships.

Most recently, he served as president and CEO of LVMH Beauty, where he oversaw a portfolio of luxury fragrance and beauty houses.

In his new role, Spitzer will focus on strengthening Bottega Veneta’s brand, deepening its relationships with clients worldwide, and reinforcing the house’s reputation and values.

“Bottega Veneta is one of the strongest and most distinctive Houses in luxury, with exceptional craftsmanship, a unique creative identity and remarkable growth potential,” de Meo said.

“Romain has the leadership, vision, and international experience to unlock the next phase of the house’s development. I am confident he will build on its extraordinary strengths and take Bottega Veneta to the next level.”

Spitzer began his career at Guerlain in 1995 as a product manager. He later held several marketing roles at Jean Paul Gaultier Parfums and Yves Saint Laurent Parfums, including international marketing director.

In 2006, he joined Parfums Christian Dior as head of the fragrance business unit before taking on leadership roles as general manager for Spain and regional general manager for Europe.

In 2016, Spitzer became president and CEO of LVMH Fragrance Brands, overseeing Parfums Givenchy and Kenzo. His responsibilities later expanded to include Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Acqua di Parma, Loewe Perfumes, Officine Universelle Buly, and New Ventures.
