Birkenstock has opened a store in Malibu, California, expanding its US retail footprint as the footwear brand continues to invest in physical stores.

The new store is located at Cross Creek Ranch, a mixed-use development in Malibu’s Civic Center, and stocks footwear across women’s, men’s and children’s ranges. The assortment includes Birkenstock’s core sandals and clogs, as well as sneakers, shoes, and boots.

The store also carries the brand’s Care Essentials collection of foot and body care products, including its plant-based nail polish range.

Birkenstock has adapted its retail concept for the Malibu location, using materials including cork and leather throughout the store. The space also features Fertility Form 2025, a large-scale sculpture by Malibu-based artist Rogan Gregory.

“It’s the perfect place to bring a distinctive Birkenstock retail experience to life, and we’re excited to open our doors and deepen our connection to the Malibu community,” said David Kahan, president of Birkenstock Americas. 

The opening takes Birkenstock’s company-owned US store network to 24 locations. It also comes as the brand marks the 50th anniversary of its Boston clog.
