British online fashion group Debenhams is bringing its popular clothing labels, namely Coast, Warehouse, Oasis, Nasty Gal and Karen Millen, to the US.
The expansion is in collaboration with Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom, with the brands’ products now available in the department stores’ online marketplaces.
This is part of Debenhams’ partnership with technology platform Refined Networks, according to Retail Gazette. The Debenhams Group brands are among more than 30 British retailers launching in the US this year through the marketplace solution specialist.
Debenhams said the move marks a significant step in its international growth strategy, which focuses on a marketplace-led model.
“Launching into the US is about bringing our much-loved British fashion labels to new audiences overseas, starting with some of the most iconic department store names in the market,” said Debenhams CEO Dan Finley.
“Through these partnerships, our labels will now be in front of millions of potential shoppers across the US giving British fashion an unprecedented platform in one of the world’s largest retail markets.
“The appetite we’re already seeing for our labels underlines the strength of British fashion internationally, and we’re excited to build on that momentum with our US partners,” he added.
The announcement comes after Macy’s launched a dedicated marketing campaign to celebrate the arrival of Nasty Gal in August.
