‘Momentous year’: Playa Bowls opens 54 stores, signs 110 franchise agreements

Superfruit bowl shop Playa Bowls entered 110 franchise agreements last year, with 60 per cent of those signed by existing shop owners.

In addition, the company opened 54 new shops and expanded into eight new markets including Washington DC, Raleigh, Austin, and Orlando.

The brand also booked a 7.2 per cent transaction growth, resulting in double-digit comparable store sales.

“2023 was a momentous year for Playa Bowls. We’ve substantially increased our national presence, surpassing over 200 locations across the nation,” said CEO Dan Harmon.

“The growth isn’t slowing down any time soon. Playa Bowls has signed numerous development commitments that have set the brand up for a strong start in 2024.”

Harmon added that the company is keen to launch new menu items and partnerships this year.
